SCULLY (voice‑over): There’s a pattern in conflict, one we’ve been trained to call coincidence. Intelligence briefings reduce it to strategy, analysts reduce it to policy. But patterns don’t repeat this precisely unless something is influencing them. Tonight, we’re investigating a claim that defies both science and common sense — a structure in the Iranian desert said to distort electromagnetic readings, satellite telemetry, and, allegedly, foreign policy.

I don’t believe in “portals,” but I do believe in anomalies. And this one refuses to be dismissed.

MULDER: Scully, you’ve seen the data. Every time this site activates — whatever “activation” means — we get a spike in regional instability, followed by decisions that don’t match the briefings, the advisors, or the political incentives. It’s like someone’s opening a door and the world keeps falling through it.

SCULLY: Or like someone keeps misinterpreting noise as intent.

MULDER: Then why does the noise look like a repeating signal? Why does it show up in classified logs going back decades? And why does every administration pretend they’ve never heard of it?

SCULLY: Because acknowledging it would require acknowledging the impossible.
